Vire chien: Église Champlain

Summary

An augmented reality tour of the Champlain church transported to 1908, the visitors can travel in time and see the beauty of the church of today and from the early 20th century. An add-on for the kids will make them team up with Lucien, the dog-wrangler of the church, in a quest to shoo away the dogs that managed to sneak into this sacred space."Lucien, the dog-wrangler, dozed off, and a bunch of mischievous dogs sneaked into the church. Kids have the challenge of tracking them down and guiding them out. They'll encounter various dog breeds and need to approach them in different ways so as not to startle or rile them up."

Constraints

1. Ensuring Quality Assurance (QA) for an all-ages experience, catering to everyone from seniors to youngsters.

2. Crafting a game that beckons kids into a historic realm, blending excitement with respect for the solemnity of the space.

3. Navigating the exclusive tablet platform, weaving a user-friendly tapestry of interaction and immersion.

More Details

I have helped for the QA of the original tour, but mostly worked on the design of the game for kids:
1.
A Playful Bond with History: Crafting an endearing rapport with an historical figure, we introduce Lucien, the dog-wrangler of yore, and unveil the intriguing yet obsolete occupation he once held. Through engaging interactions, we create a bridge between the past and present.
2.
Curiosity Unleashed: In a stroke of inspiration, we channel the inherent curiosity of kids by weaving a positive allure to collecting – only this time, it's a thrilling race to spot and gather various dog breeds that have playfully infiltrated the church.
3.
The Sweet Spot of Joyful Tranquility: We unlocked a key design revelation – how to instill playfulness and joy while maintaining a respectful hush in the church ambiance. Borrowing a page from stealth games, we set up a captivating chase:

Embracing the role of a detective, kids embark on a seek-and-find mission.

An artful approach is essential to nab the sneaky dogs without ruffling their fur – haste leads to anger or a quick getaway.

The pièce de résistance? The 'noise zone' mechanism, acting as a visual gauge. Move too quickly or create too much commotion, and the kid's radar will light up, striking a balance between exuberance and tranquility.
At the end of the game or a capture I designed a gradated reward feature with stars encouraging kids to replay and do better.
