Summary

Have you ever come face to face with a whale? That's a dream that MEGACETA fulfills—an immersive and interactive experience that allows visitors to interact with the giants of the sea... without a virtual reality headset! Life-sized marine mammals are projected onto the walls, offering a memorable spectacle that combines photorealistic 3D models and organically animated movements, rigorously validated by a scientific committee. Beyond providing an active and universally appealing educational experience that transcends words, this product presents itself as an ethical solution to the issues related to the captivity of marine mammals.

Constraints

1. Adaptative and modular projection set-up that adapt depend of the length and height of the walls.

2. Interactions with minimal or integrated and non invasive interface.

3. Captations through Intel RealSense and eventually AI smart camera.

4. Realistic behaviour and movement of the whales. Life-sized whales at real scale.

More Details

I have designed 5 games that engage the entire body of the visitors:
1.
Zen Mode and Calm Game encourage the player to remain composed and contemplate the whales swimming.
2.
Intimate Contact invites the player to call a humpback whale. Once the whale is close to the player, they sway from side to side while the whale keeps an eye on them.
3.
Feeding game prompts the player to create and lead a large shoal of herrings. Once the herring shoal reaches a certain density, a humpback whale starts hunting and swallows the shoal.
4.
Whale Calf Game allows the player to play with a whale calf, performing acrobatics that the calf will mimic in its own way.
5.
Rescue Game invites the player to free a whale entangled in fishing ropes.
A level design has been implemented for each game, including tables and flowcharts.

Improvements, Additions and Feedback

1.
Refined Gestural Controls : Consider improving the gestural controls in the calf acrobatic game for better ergonomics, enhancing the player experience and making it more intuitive.
2.
Species Interactions : Introduce species interactions within the game, such as playful dolphins, predatory orcas, or curious belugas, to add depth and realism to the aquatic environment, creating a more immersive and engaging gameplay experience.
