Le simulateur Génial!

Summary

The Simulateur Génial! captures the television universe of "Génial!" in an experiential installation. In the museum, young players recreate the spectacular effects of natural phenomena through the Internet of Things. Additionally, the experience offers an immersive effect, with some interactions occurring seamlessly without the need for a traditional interface. This concept embodies the idea that sometimes the best interface is no interface, creating a multi-sensory encounter for the participants.

Constraints

1. Exploring New Frameworks: Push creative limits by adopting a fresh development framework to uncover its potential.

2. Immersive Sensory Experience: Design an encounter featuring screens, speakers, lights, and hardware for a multi-sensory impact.

3. Captivating Pre-Adolescent Audience: Tailor content to engage and captivate pre-adolescent viewers with age-appropriate appeal.

4. Weather Gameplay: Craft educational and entertaining weather phenomena gameplay.

More Details

I have contributed to the design of this immersive experience by keeping in mind the multi sensory and multi media aspect of it:
1.
My design process focuses on creating interactive storytelling that transports users to diverse locales: Iceland's auroras, Southern Europe's volcanoes, and the American Midwest's tornadoes. Seamlessly weaving these elements, I aim to offer an immersive and emotionally resonant experience that educates and captivates.
2.
My game design process ingeniously merges diverse hardware elements like screens, speakers, lights, smoke machines, fans, and heaters, seamlessly creating total immersion through an intuitive and user-friendly approach. All these apparels to recreate the feeling of the phenomenas.
3.
In the initial iteration, we've envisioned an interactive table as the central interface for players, fostering engagement with the storytelling experience. However, in the subsequent version, we've embraced a novel approach by employing Kinect cameras discreetly mounted on the ceiling, capturing the players' movements on the floor. This shift not only enhanced immersion but also allowed for a more dynamic interaction.
A real succes story especially when it was presented at the Biosphere.
