High Level Concept

Strap in for this Shoot'Em Up, where you're no Red Baron, but you're still ruling the WWI skies with quirky courage. Dodge, dive, and snack your way through history in this airborne adventure!

Constraints

1. Have a primitive plane or spaceship that can move.

2. Have at least one enemy and one enemy behavior, they can shoot back.

3. Have a respawn and lives system.

4. OPTIONAL: have some power ups & special points system.

Design & Development

I have designed and developed a little game that went further than the initial exercise.

To my surprise, I decided to explore beyond the initial plan and utilized free assets in a creative way, transforming the game's visual style into a stunning 2.5D experience. This small deviation not only elevated the aesthetics but also provided players with a more immersive world to engage with.

Going beyond expectations, I delved into coding three distinct enemy types, each with their own unique behaviors. This added layer of variety injected a sense of challenge and dynamism into the game, exceeding the scope of the original task.

What started as a simple exercise soon turned into a technical adventure. I found myself pushing the boundaries and delving deep into C# scripting, not just to meet the project's requirements, but to thoroughly understand the language and its capabilities. This over-the-top effort wasn't just about the game—it was about honing my skills and gaining a comprehensive grasp of the technology.
Some lines of code were done to create a random and generative progression through the game.
