Bioquiz

Summary

Design and develop an interactive table offering a digital quiz game. This engaging game serves as a gateway to exploring the remarkable biodiversity of the park, which is home to hundreds of different species. This table is showcased as part of a permanent exhibition at the Visitor Centre of Forillon National Park in Gaspésie.

Constraints

1. Conceptualize a digital table that has a balance between spacious interaction and compactness.

2. Redefine the quiz format, merging it creatively with card game dynamics.

3. Ingeniously distilling extensive information into bite-sized, captivating fragments.

4. Create an enticing allure that draws participants into indoor gameplay, acting as a gateway to exploring the dynamic ecosystem outdoors.

More Details

The idea was simple – to give a quiz a makeover. Instead of sticking to a set number of predetermined answer choices for each question, we spiced things up by tossing digital cards into the mix.

The goal? Hunt down 9 randomly chosen species out of a detailed assortment of 70 species featured in the game. Imagine, a quiz for each critter, so that makes 9 quizzes to conquer the game.
1.
The quiz itself: Each quiz kicked off with a clue, a nudge about the species you're chasing. Players had 3 shots to hit the mark before we served up the right answer. Oh, and to spice up the challenge, we tossed in an extra hint during the first two tries – that's 3 tidbits of info per species. Even if you nailed the answer before your 3 chances ran out, we let the remaining hints dance out, keeping that educational vibe alive.
2.
Difficulty design: And the difficulty meter? We've got you covered! As you play, every 3 quizzes amp up the fun by tossing more cards onto the table, cranking up the challenge. You get to decide how tough you want it before each game:

Easy = 3 quizzes with 12 cards; 3 quizzes with 24 cards; 3 quizzes with 36 cards
Medium = 3 quizzes with 24 cards; 3 quizzes with 36 cards; 3 quizzes with 48 cards
Hard = 3 quizzes with 36 cards; 3 quizzes with 48 cards; 3 quizzes with 60 cards
3.
Replayability: With a lineup of 70 species, each flaunting their own quiz, we've got a pool of endless possibilities, a game that begs to be replayed, but not too much life is outside.
Imagine the thrill of juggling cards instead of clicking bland choices – it's like the game becomes tactile, alive. You can even play with up to 4 buddies, all huddled around the same table, cracking the case together!
